Harness Your Body’s Natural Healing Superpower
Nicknamed the “vampire facial,” PRP uses the patient’s own blood to stimulate the growth of new cells and regenerate collagen and tissue for a firmer complexion. Discover the rejuvenating benefits of PRP at Laser Arts Studio for hair loss, scar reduction, skin rejuvenation, and pain treatments.
How Does PRP Work?
In the PRP process, a small amount of blood is taken from a person’s body, and the blood plasma is separated by a process called centrifusion. The plasma obtained is rich in cells called thrombocytes, which contain growth factors that can trigger cell reproduction and stimulate tissue regeneration or healing in the treated area.
As PRP activates fibroblasts, the cells responsible for collagen production, it leads to firmer, more youthful skin. It also promotes angiogenesis, the formation of new blood vessels crucial for delivering oxygen, nutrients, and growth factors to the treated area. This process promotes healing and rejuvenation of the skin and hair follicles.
What Can I Treat With PRP?
Hair Loss: PRP injections can be effective in treating male pattern baldness, both in preventing hair loss and promoting new hair growth. PRP can also aid in the stimulation of hair growth after hair transplants. Growth factors in PRP that are most involved in hair growth include Fibroblast Growth Factor (FGF), Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF), and Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF). Growth factors can increase the duration of the anagen, the growth phase of hair, and may increase the thickness of the hair shaft.
Scar Treatment: Scarring is a natural process that unfolds as wounds heal. If a lesion is more than 5 mm deep or takes longer than 3-4 weeks to repair, the healing process is likely to leave a scar. PRP can help rebuild cell structure by increasing the level of bioactive proteins, known as growth factors, in damaged tissues. Over time, this leads to smoother skin texture, improved tone, and reduced depth of pitted or boxcar scars.
Skin Rejuvenation: PRP facial rejuvenation naturally stimulates your body’s own collagen production, and it takes about three months for maximum collagen regeneration to occur. Most patients notice an improvement in their skin texture in the first month after the treatment. It is recommended to have 2-3 treatments spaced at 6-8 week intervals. The results of PRP rejuvenation are long term with most patients receiving touch up treatments at one year to further stimulate collagen production and continued facial rejuvenation.
How It’s Performed
Mesotherapy
Mesotherapy is a non-invasive skin rejuvenation treatment that uses an ultrafine needle to target the delivery of PRP under the skin’s surface.
PRP Facial injections use the body’s own healing properties to naturally stimulate collagen, improve texture, and rejuvenate from within. This treatment is great for those looking to target fine lines, pore size, and an overall healthier complexion.
Microneedling
Microneedling, or collagen induction therapy, is a cosmetic treatment using tiny needles to create micro-injuries in the skin, triggering the body's natural healing response.
Microneedling with PRP uses the body’s own healing properties to naturally stimulate collagen, improve texture, and rejuvenate from within. This treatment is great for those looking to target fine lines, pore size,
and an overall healthier complexion.
