Botox FAQs
-
Botox is an FDA-approved injectable treatment that temporarily relaxes the underlying facial muscles responsible for dynamic wrinkles (the lines formed from repetitive expressions like frowning, squinting, or raising your eyebrows). By freezing muscle movement, the overlying skin looks noticeably smoother and more refreshed.
-
Not at all! When administered properly, Botox enhances your natural features and doesn’t erase your expression. You’ll still be able to smile, frown, and express yourself naturally; your skin will just look smoother and more rested while doing so.
-
Botox is most commonly used to treat:
Crow’s feet (lines around the outer corners of the eyes)
Glabella (the “11s” between the eyebrows)
Forehead lines (horizontal creased across the forehead)
Lip flip/bunny lines (smoothing lines around the nose or subtly flipping the upper lip)
Jawline/masseters (for jaw slimming or teeth grinding relief)
-
Discomfort is very minimal! Most clients describe the feeling as a quick, tiny pinch. The needles used are extremely thin, and the entire injection process takes only about 10 to 15 minutes.
-
Botox doesn’t work instantly, but it works quickly! You’ll start noticing subtle smoothing within 3 to 5 days, with full peak results appearing at around 10 to 14 days post treatment.
-
For most clients, results last between 3 to 4 months. As muscle movement gradually returns over time, the lines will slowly reappear. Consistent maintenance appointments every 3 to 4 months will help prolong your smooth results and prevent new lines from deepening.
-
While both are popular injectables, they target different concerns. Botox relaxes muscles to smooth out lines caused by facial movements, while fillers add volume to plump thin lips or restore lost volume.
-
There is zero real downtime and you can return to work or most daily activities right away! However, to ensure the product stays right where it was placed, stay upright for at least 4 hours after treatment and do not massage or rub the treated area.
